COVID-19 Wind Down
At the May Administrative Council meeting, a proposal for reopening was approved. It was based, in part, on an assumption that we would get no notice as to when the Governor would lift the state health orders.
Wednesday, the governor announced the date that state health orders will be lifted. Since we have time to let you know when we will be making changes, the one week allowed to get the word out is being met, in principle, by making the announcement now. Therefore, here is what will be happening:
On Sunday, June 6th, we will no longer be required to follow any COVID-19 protocols. That means that our weekend schedule will look like this:
Saturday @ 6:00 p.m. – we will continue to have drive-in services for those who are not yet comfortable coming into the church. Attenders are asked to park in the gravel lot, but, if you choose, you can bring lawn chairs up to the paved lot to sit outside. You can remain in your cars, and listen on the radio if you prefer (or if it is raining). This service will continue until Labor Day.
Sunday @ 8:30 a.m. – We will once again be worshiping in the chapel at our regular time. This means that the Sunday morning drive-in service will conclude on May 30th.
Sunday @ 10:45 a.m. – The sanctuary service will continue with no masks and no social distancing required.
Sunday School – Beginning June 6th, classes will be able to return to their original rooms.
Please continue to wear masks and practice social distancing for the next few weeks, and rejoice that we can now identify the light at the end of the tunnel. May 30th will be our last Sunday we will need to wear masks. June 6th, we will give thanks that the mask requirements are behind us.
